8 Days Rwenzori Trekking Tour via central circuit
8 Days Rwenzori Trekking Tour is exceptional to do along the majestic Mountain Rwenzori located in the South Western Part of Uganda. This trek is done following the central circuit route until you reach the highest point called Margerita Peak.
Day by Day Itinerary of the 8 Days Rwenzori Trekking Tour
Day 1: Transfer to Kasese
On reaching the Entebbe International Airport, you are welcomed and taken through a meet and greet session by our experienced driver guide. Later, he shall transfer you on journey to Kasese via the Kampala- Mubende –Kasese Route on a journey of 7 hours with en-route views of the green terrain, bird species as well as lunch break in Mubende. After a while, you shall reach Kasese then get to Nyakalengija and afterwards, check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Ruboni community camp.
Day 2: Nyakalengija – Nyabitaba Hut
Breakfast in the morning then at 8:00 am, embark on trek of 4 to 5 hours through bamboo, high elephant grass and dense bushes. You shall climb some rocks and bluff then traverse River Mahoma. Along the way, view the white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, three horned chameleon, Rwenzori Turaco etc. Later, proceed on hike till you reach Nyabitaba hut for Overnight.
Day 3: Nyabitaba to John Matte
Breakfast then embark on transfer through the forest about half an hour to the hurt shafer bridge a junction of the mubuku and bujuku rivers then through the bamboo forest. Slippery moss, covered rocks for a couple of hours. You shall continue to the Nyamulenge rock shelter where you will have a view of mount stanely and mount speke at a distance. You shall afterwards reach John matte hut where you will spend the night. While here, view Mount stanely and the Margherita glacier.
Day 4: John matte to Bujjuku Hut
Have breakfast then continue to traverse River mubuku to the bigo bog which is a home to the giant lobelias. You shall start freezing as you view Lake Bujuku, Mount Baker, Mount Speke and the narrow valley beneath Stuhlmann pass. Dinner and Overnight at bujuku Hut.
Day 5: Bujuku to kitandara Hut
Breakfast then proceed to the stunning kitandara hut where you will spend the night after following the trail through the scott eliot pass.
Day 6: kitandara to Guy yeoman
You will move through the fresh field pass where you will feel the cool air of Mountain Rwenzori. Here you will be so close to DR. Congo and you will see some of the roads and settlements in Congo from a distance if the weather allows. Spend the night at guy yeoman hut.
Day 7: Guy Yeoman to Nyabitaba then Nyakalengija
From guy yeoman you will descend back to nyabitaba hut for a night or choose to continue up to nyakalengijja if you still have some strength left.
Day 8: Drive back to Kampala/Airport
The guide will pick you up from the camp in the morning after your breakfast then drive back to Kampala or to the airport for your flight back home.
